When standard Databricks training doesn't fit
Databricks Academy's standard curriculum is the right starting point for many teams. We're for the teams it doesn't fit.
That usually means one of three things: the training has to run on your own data rather than sample datasets, it has to follow the workflows and platform decisions your team has already made, or your requirements are specific enough that no standard course was written for them. In each case we design the curriculum around your environment and deliver it.
If a standard, non-custom Databricks course is what your team needs, we can deliver that on request too.
What does Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law mean for Databricks teams?
Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, known as the UU PDP, came fully into force in October 2024 after a two-year transition. It sets out the rights of data subjects, obligations for data controllers and processors, conditions for transferring personal data outside Indonesia, and a duty to notify personal data breaches within a set timeframe.
The UU PDP places obligations on processors as well as controllers, so a data engineer's pipeline is part of the compliance picture, not something downstream of it. Training runs on masked, synthetic or governed data in your own workspace, with access control and lineage taught as working skills rather than a closing slide.

What changes for financial services teams in Indonesia?
Banks and other financial institutions are supervised by the Financial Services Authority, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), whose regulations on the use of information technology set expectations for IT governance, risk management, data management, and the use of cloud and third-party providers.
OJK expects institutions to govern data and third-party technology deliberately, cloud included. Custom training covers the Databricks side of that: least-privilege access, audit trails, lineage, and a controlled route for pipelines and models into production. How that maps onto OJK's requirements is for your risk and compliance teams to decide.
Does your data have to stay in Indonesia?
It depends on who you are. Government Regulation 71 of 2019 on electronic systems generally requires public-scope electronic systems, meaning government bodies and those operating on their behalf, to manage and store data in Indonesia, while private-scope operators have more flexibility. Sector regulators can add requirements of their own.
That decision shapes the platform your team trains on. At the time of writing, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud all operate cloud regions in Indonesia, but Databricks does not run in every cloud region, so confirm where your workspace can sit before the architecture is settled. We build training on the cloud and region you actually use.

Custom programs can be structured to build towards a certification on your own data, which tends to stick better than preparing on sample datasets alone.
Certification exams are booked and sat directly with Databricks. We prepare the team; we do not administer the exam.

Can the training run on our own Databricks workspace and data?
Yes, and that is the point of it. Sessions run on your own workspace and catalog structure, using masked, synthetic or appropriately governed data wherever the UU PDP or your internal policy means real personal data should not be used for practice.
How is this different from Databricks Academy?
They serve different needs. Databricks Academy's standard curriculum is the right starting point for many teams. We are for the teams it does not fit: training that has to run on your own data, follow your workflows or meet specific requirements. If a standard course is what you need, we can deliver that on request too.
Do you deliver Databricks training onsite in Jakarta?
Yes. We deliver onsite in Jakarta and elsewhere in Indonesia, with travel quoted at cost on top of the session fee. Live online delivery in Indonesian business hours is also available for distributed teams.
Can Databricks training be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia?
Not at the moment. Sessions are delivered in English, which is also the language of the Databricks platform, its documentation and its certification exams. We would rather say that plainly than promise Bahasa Indonesia delivery we cannot yet provide.
How is Databricks training priced in Indonesia?
From USD $5,000 per cohort, not per seat, so the same fee covers the whole group. Onsite delivery adds travel at cost. We confirm the quote after a 30-minute discovery call, once we know what the curriculum needs to cover and how much of it has to be built around your environment.
