AI Training for Financial Services Teams
Better People delivers custom AI training for Australian banking and financial services teams, covering client correspondence, research, reporting and the data-handling rules your compliance function already enforces. Sessions run onsite or live online on Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude, priced per cohort from $5,000, and your firm owns every material produced.
Our team has trained:
Why does generic AI training not transfer to a bank?
Financial services teams face two problems most industries do not: data sensitivity is not negotiable, and your compliance function will rightly veto anything vague. Generic "how to prompt ChatGPT" training does not survive contact with either.
Across professional services, the two things that consistently stall AI adoption are the same: whether confidential information is safe in the tool, and whether the answer can be trusted. In financial services both carry regulatory weight, so a session that treats them as a closing caveat rather than the subject gets waved through by staff and blocked by risk.
The other pattern is a timing one. Individual staff almost always adopt these tools faster than their organisation can govern them, which means the practical question is rarely whether people will use AI. It is whether they are using it to a standard the business would recognise. Training is the fastest way to close that gap, and it only works if the rules being taught are yours.
Where this shows up in the room
01
Drafting and reviewing client correspondence without exposing sensitive data to the wrong tool
02
Using AI to support credit and risk assessment work while keeping a human decision-maker in the loop
03
Summarising long reports and internal documentation
04
Working inside your existing data governance policy, not around it
How a session runs
These are not slideshow sessions. Participants bring laptops and use them for most of the time they are in the room, or on the call. They write their own prompts, run them, compare what different people got from the same starting point, and rework them.
Every session is built around live demonstrations rather than screenshots, and the demonstrations use your own material: your correspondence formats, your reporting, your policy, with fictionalised data anywhere the real thing cannot leave the building. When something is on screen, the room is doing it alongside the trainer rather than watching it happen.
What changes after the training
The outcome we design for is confidence. Not enthusiasm, and not tool trivia, but a team that is comfortable using AI in real work and clear about where the line sits.
- ✓
People stop accepting the first answer and start checking it, because they understand how the tool produced it
- ✓
Prompting becomes repeatable rather than a knack a few people have
- ✓
Staff know what may and may not go into a tool, so the cautious stop avoiding it entirely and the confident stop improvising
- ✓
The team works to one standard instead of a dozen self-taught habits formed in private
- ✓
Leaders can support the change rather than simply approve it

Can training run around our data governance policy?
Yes. We build the program around your existing controls rather than asking you to work around ours. During discovery we read your AI usage policy and data-handling rules, then teach against them directly, so what people practise in the room is what they are permitted to do at their desk.
Do you involve compliance or risk before the session runs?
Yes, and the review happens during the design phase rather than after. Compliance and risk see the curriculum and the worked examples before delivery is scheduled, which is usually faster than approving a generic course and then negotiating exceptions to it.
How much does AI training for a financial services team cost?
Custom programs and workshops both start at $5,000. Pricing is per cohort rather than per seat, so the same fee covers fifteen people or a hundred and fifty. For a team of fifty that is around $100 a head. Travel for interstate or international delivery is quoted separately at cost.
Which AI tools do you train on?
We teach on the tool your organisation has actually deployed: Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude. Teaching on the licensed tool avoids the common failure where staff learn on a consumer product and then cannot apply any of it inside the bank environment.
Can you train staff who are not allowed to put client data into AI tools?
Yes, and that is the more common case. Sessions are built so the exercises use fictionalised or public material while teaching the judgment about what belongs in a prompt and what does not. Staff leave knowing where the line sits, not just that a line exists.
How long does it take to arrange?
A workshop can usually be scheduled within a few weeks. A custom program runs four to eight weeks from discovery to delivery, most of which is design and stakeholder time rather than waiting. The starting point is a 30-minute discovery call.
