When standard Databricks training doesn't fit
Databricks Academy's standard curriculum is the right starting point for many teams. We're for the teams it doesn't fit.
That usually means one of three things: the training has to run on your own data rather than sample datasets, it has to follow the workflows and platform decisions your team has already made, or your requirements are specific enough that no standard course was written for them. In each case we design the curriculum around your environment and deliver it.
If a standard, non-custom Databricks course is what your team needs, we can deliver that on request too.
How does Vietnam's personal data law shape Databricks training?
Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on Personal Data Protection took effect in July 2023 and introduced requirements that land squarely on data teams, including impact assessments for processing personal data and for transferring it outside Vietnam. A Personal Data Protection Law, passed in 2025 and in force from January 2026, builds on the decree.
Impact assessments ask where personal data comes from, where it goes and who can reach it, which are questions a well-governed Databricks platform can answer directly. Training runs on masked, synthetic or governed data in your own workspace and treats lineage and access control as the evidence those assessments rely on.

What about teams building for clients outside Vietnam?
A large share of Vietnam's data and software engineering work is delivered for clients in other countries, often on the client's own Databricks workspace. Those teams work under two sets of rules at once: Vietnamese law, and the client's own governance and data protection obligations.
Custom training can be built around that reality: working inside a workspace you do not own, respecting access boundaries set by someone else, following the client’s engineering standards, and documenting what was done so the client can see it.
What changes for banks in Vietnam?
Banks are supervised by the State Bank of Vietnam, which sets requirements for the security of information systems in banking, including access control, logging, and the use of outsourced and cloud services.
Custom training covers the platform practices behind those requirements: access control in Unity Catalog, audit logging, lineage, and a controlled path into production. We do not interpret the State Bank's rules; your risk and compliance teams own how the practices map onto them.
Where does your Databricks workspace sit?
At the time of writing, none of AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud operates a full cloud region in Vietnam, so most Vietnamese teams run Databricks in a nearby region, commonly Singapore. Where data has to stay in Vietnam, that shapes the architecture before anything else. We build training on the cloud, region and architecture you actually use.

Databricks certification for Vietnamese teams
Our lead trainer holds all four Databricks certifications: Generative AI Engineer Associate, Machine Learning Engineer Associate, Data Engineer Associate and Data Engineer Professional. Custom programs can be structured to build towards a certification on your own data, which tends to stick better than preparing on sample datasets alone.
Certification exams are booked and sat directly with Databricks. We prepare the team; we do not administer the exam.

Can the training run on our own Databricks workspace and data?
Yes, and that is the point of it. Sessions run on your own workspace and catalog structure, using masked, synthetic or appropriately governed data wherever Vietnamese data protection law or your internal policy means real personal data should not be used for practice.
Can you train a team that works on a client's Databricks workspace?
Yes. We scope the training around the access your team actually has, and where it helps, work with the workspace owner to set up a suitable training environment. The material reflects how your team works for that client, not a generic sandbox.
How is this different from Databricks Academy?
They serve different needs. Databricks Academy's standard curriculum is the right starting point for many teams. We are for the teams it does not fit: training that has to run on your own data, follow your workflows or meet specific requirements. If a standard course is what you need, we can deliver that on request too.
Can Databricks training be delivered in Vietnamese?
Not at the moment. Sessions are delivered in English, which is also the language of the Databricks platform, its documentation and its certification exams. We would rather say that plainly than promise Vietnamese delivery we cannot yet provide.
How is Databricks training priced in Vietnam?
From USD $5,000 per cohort, not per seat, so the same fee covers the whole group. Onsite delivery adds travel at cost. We confirm the quote after a 30-minute discovery call, once we know what the curriculum needs to cover and how much of it has to be built around your environment.
