AI Training for Telecommunications Teams
Better People delivers AI training for Australian telecommunications teams working at customer-operations scale, covering response templates, escalation handling, internal handover notes, knowledge-base search and operations reporting. Telstra is among the teams we have trained. Sessions run onsite or live online on your deployed tool, priced per cohort from $5,000.
Our team has trained:
Why does generic AI training not transfer to a telco?
Telco customer operations run at a volume most AI training does not account for: teams handling thousands of interactions a week, not a handful. Training built for that scale looks different from a generic office workshop.
Most AI training is designed around a handful of documents. Telco customer operations run at a different order of magnitude, with teams handling thousands of interactions a week, so the skills that matter are consistency, speed and knowing when to stop and escalate rather than careful craft on a single piece of writing.
There is a quality risk specific to that volume. A habit learned loosely gets repeated thousands of times before anyone notices, which makes a shared standard worth more here than almost anywhere else, and makes self-taught use more expensive than it first looks.
Where this shows up in the room
01
Drafting and reviewing customer response templates at scale
02
Escalation handling and internal handover notes
03
Searching and summarising internal knowledge bases
04
Network and operations reporting summaries
How a session runs
These are not slideshow sessions. Participants bring laptops and use them for most of the time they are in the room, or on the call. They write their own prompts, run them, compare what different people got from the same starting point, and rework them.
Demonstrations run live on your own material: your response templates, your knowledge base, your escalation notes, with fictionalised customer detail where the real thing cannot be used. Comparing what several people got from the same starting point is the fastest way a team converges on one standard.
What changes after the training
The outcome we design for is confidence. Not enthusiasm, and not tool trivia, but a floor that is comfortable using AI at volume and clear about where the line sits.
- ✓
Agents check what comes back rather than sending it, because they understand how it was produced
- ✓
Prompting becomes repeatable, which matters more when the same habit runs thousands of times a week
- ✓
People know what may and may not go into a tool, including customer detail
- ✓
The team works to one standard instead of a dozen private habits
- ✓
Team leaders can coach on AI use rather than police it after the fact
How it is delivered

How other teams have done it
Common questions
Have you trained telco teams before?
Yes. Telstra is among the teams we have trained. The people running your session have been AWS instructors and Canva learning designers, and have delivered AI training inside enterprise teams including Westpac and CommBank.
Does this work for teams handling thousands of interactions a week?
That is the case it is built for. Training designed around a handful of documents does not transfer to customer operations running at volume, so the exercises use template drafting, escalation handling and knowledge-base search rather than one-off office tasks.
How much does AI training for a telco team cost?
Workshops and custom programs both start at $5,000, priced per cohort rather than per seat. One fee covers the room whether fifteen or a hundred and fifty people attend, which matters for large operations teams.
Can sessions run across shifts without taking the floor offline?
Yes. Sessions can be repeated across shift patterns, split into shorter blocks, or delivered live online to multiple sites. Recordings can be provided on request so staff who were on the floor can catch up.
Which AI tools do you train on?
Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude, whichever your organisation has deployed. Teaching on the licensed tool avoids staff learning a workflow they then cannot use in the environment they actually work in.
Can you use our own knowledge base and templates in the session?
Yes, and it is the part that tends to land hardest. Demonstrations use your own material and fictionalised internal data where needed, so what people practise is what they will do on shift the next day.
